Calvert County Envirothon
In cooperation with the Calvert Soil Conservation District and CHESPAX, the Board is a part sponsor of the Calvert County Envirothon.The Envirothon is a high-school environmental education and competition program. Teams compete in five natural resource disciplines including forestry. The winning team then competes at the State level.
The Board provides a special award for the winning forestry team in Calvert County. Board members have also participated by serving as forestry instructors and have administered the forestry test on the day of competition.
The Calvert High School team finished in First Place at the
Maryland State Envirothon Competition on June 19/20. They will compete at the National Envirothon at NC State University on July 28 - August 2, 2019. In addition to first place overall, the team took home awards for first place in Forestry, Soils, and Wildlife. |

2016-17 National Envirothon Sponsor
The Board was a proud sponsor of the Forestry component of the 2016-17 NCF - National Envirothon. It was held From July 23-29, 2017 at Mount St. Mary’s University in beautiful Emmitsburg, Maryland. The event was won by the Pennsylvania team. Maryland was represented by a team from Carroll County who finished 10th. A total of 54 teams from the United States, Canada, and China had a great week while in Maryland. More information can be found HERE.
